Course Description

Linux is more than just an OS, with it's advance CLI interface it becomes much more dynamic and functional that any other OS. More and more enterprises are migrating to Linux now a days, so it's almost necessary to up the skill. Ubuntu is one of the most stable and function rich version so having a grip on Ubuntu will take you far in progress and management.
This course is a 20-hour instructor-led course that provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to install, operate with advance CLI commands and cover intermediate security level.

Course Description

Note: Students registering for this course will be receiving their course kit in a digital format.

Prospective Linux (Ubuntu) students should prepare themselves for some project work, which will be assigned and reviewed by mentors.

-To participate in the hands-on labs in this class, you need to have a laptop or computer with the following:
  • We recommend using at least a core 2 duo or better and 1 GB of RAM or more.
  • We recommend running Windows 7 or greater (Windows 8/10).
  • Mac & Linux machines are not recommended.
  • All PCs require Internet Explorer 7 or greater, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome.
  • Note: When testing connectivity, Mozilla & Chrome may not be able to fully complete the tests as intended.
  • All students should have administrator rights to their PCs.
  • If you do not have administrator rights to your PC, you at least need permissions to download, install, and run Active-X controls in Internet Explorer or Cisco Any Connect Client.
  • If you are participating in a skype event, you should have internet access served by at least a 512K link, a full T1 Connection is recommended.
  • All PCs require the latest Java Runtime Environment, which can be downloaded from
  • Upon completing this course, the learner will be able to meet these overall objectives:

  • Migrating Ubuntu as a primary OS
  • Using photos through Shotwell
  • Understanding the settings and hardware infrastructure
  • Working with network connectivity apps
  • Creating archives
  • Creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Understanding the complete Dash
  • Backing up files to a server
  • Sharing resources and data
  • Ubuntu IoT package support foundation
